Mini-tub an Impala SS

Here's pictures of my car while we take out 1" of frame rail to accommodate 18x12" wheels with 335/30/18 rear tires. The first pictures are of the car with the 18x12's bolted on using 1.25" spacers prior to doing the mini-tub. The intent was to do the mini-tub when I originally ordered the wheels however I wanted to have them on for the 4/03 Super Chevy Show and used the spacers for one week to do so.

The wheels are Boyd Hot Rod's with the "smooth lip", the back wheels are 7.5" backspacing and took over 9 months to receive due to the custom order. The fronts are 18x9's with the "standard" Impala offset.

One side note: Chevy claims to have a 17x13 on the 510 Impala SS, after doing this job and seeing the pictures of their car I highly doubt that you could get a 13" wheel under the car as they have claimed. My tires measure 13" mounted on the wheels. If someone see's the 510 Impala SS at a show please measure it for me and let me know what they find.

Suspension now consists of Hotchkis springs, BMR rear adjustable extended length control arms, Fbody front sway bar and stock rear sway bar.

Update - I had the wheels polished again, I even had them do the backside of the wheels while waiting for the new 396 setup and they came out awesome!
