Stage 2 Timeslips

Here's my timeslips from Friday May 18th both before and after the LT4 ESC module installation
The Weather was this:
Currently:
91ºF

Mostly Cloudy
Hi: 97
Lo: 75
Appar Temp: 87°   Dewpoint: 41°
Barometer: 29.76 in;
rising
  Wind: N/6 mph
Humidity: 17%   Sunrise: 5:26 a.m.
Visibility: 10 mi   Sunset: 7:24 p.m.

I am car 40 and I ran the right lane all night.

There are 3 things I want to point out here

1. Notice my first run without the LT4 ESC module installed at 7:48 PM

2. Notice my second run with the LT4 ESC module installed - .3 increase for $27.00 at 8:56 PM

3. I WON! I won my first E.T. bracket racing competition. That was pretty cool and I intend to do it again.

The install of the LT4 ESC module took about 10 minutes and I will have step by step pictures up within a week concerning that. I have installed the MSD 6A ignition and will run again this Friday to check times. I plan on doing a run without the MSD 6A hooked up and another one with it hooked up to see the difference in 1/4 mile times.

6/8/01 Ran at the track again but had very mixed results. I didn't get a chance to try with and without the MSD module the week before but after cooling off I was running consistently at 15.2X@90mph so it didn't make a difference.

I believe the reason for difficulties was that I ran my partially made SSRI knock off intake kit and also deleted the MAF screen, had the Dynomax Exhaust done and also bought 100 Octane gas for the evening. After running a 15.2X my runs got progressively slower through the evening ending in 15.9. Later when I filled the tank up I had to put in 21.8 gallons of gas which means I had .2 gallons at the track, not the best case scenario.

I've had 2 more chances to bracket race and lost both times in the final round. I have to get much more consistent with my times. on 6/1/01 I cut 6 .5XX lights out of 8 for the night, unfortunately my one red light was the final round of the bracket racing competition.

6/13/01 Finished SSRI knock off and also replaced Fuel Filter, test drive of car shows drastic improvement of a 30 mph full throttle downshift. Previously if I was at 30 mph and floored it the car would "load up" and downshift into 2nd and then 1st 3 or 4 seconds later. I thought it was a transmission problem but it could have been the fuel filter, I'll find out Saturday night at the track. Next mod will be new spark plugs and wires as I don't know how good the previous owner was on preventative maintenance as GM suggests 100,000 miles before changing. I've heard that's not the best case scenario at www.impalassforum.com.

8/25/01 Updates have been few and far between lately due to my only free time I have from work/family I end up spending at the track on Friday nights. Results have been good from the mods and I have decreased my time to 14.92 as my new best run even though the temp was at over 100 degrees at the track at 7pm. Check Stage 3 mods for the last 2 things I have installed to date.
